From October 2026, that duty is expected to become even stricter, requiring employers to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment, alongside the introduction of third-party harassment liability.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) identifies regular, effective staff training as one of the key steps employers should take to help demonstrate compliance with their legal obligations and reduce the risk of liability.
